On the September 24th, 2018, the Government of Republic of Serbia published the draft of Law on protection of personal data.  The goal of the draft is to harmonise national regulation with the regulation of the European Union, especially GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), which is implemented from May 2018. In Government of Serbia’s media release, it is stated that the draft of the law will lead to better protection of personal data of Serbian citizens both in the Republic of Serbia and in international exchange of personal data.
